In the Footsteps of David Livingstone: June 2019
(continued)
The flight initially takes us east from Kasane to the Kazungula Bridge - a road and railway bridge under construction over the
Zambezi River that will link Zambia and Botswana. The bridge is located near the point where the borders of four countries meet:
Zimbabwe;
Namibia; Zambia; and Botswana -
the only international quadripoint, known as "The Four Corners of Africa".
The Cessna then flies west to give us extensive views of the plains alongside the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. We have sightings of elephants
and hippos from our altitude of 450 to 550 feet.
After our scenic flight, we return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure.
The animals that frequent the hotel's grounds include several warthogs and monkeys.
