Our accommodation is at the 9 Muses Resort, Perivolos

Our flight from Birmingham lands at 9:44pm, and we reach the hotel at 11:20pm

We enjoy a complimentary drink in the hotel bar as we complete

the usual paperwork and our luggage is taken to our room

Our Junior Suite (number 219) is very large and comfortable. There are two balconies (facing west and south) that have views over the pool area and the surrounding countryside

We are staying on a half-board basis and take our meals outdoors,

sitting beneath a multi-curved roof

Room 219 is on the upper floor (the 2 seems to signify that we are in the second detached section of 9 - the '9 Muses'), the above photo showing both balconies

Overlooking the hotel is Moni Profitou Ilia -

the highest point of the island, and the location for a monastery

Not far from the hotel are the beaches of Perivolos and Perissa,

where we find a cooling ice cream

After arriving at Santorini on Friday, September 22nd, and spending the Saturday exploring the local area on foot, we take a full day excursion on the Sunday that commences with a cruise departing from the port of Athinios
