Informative mats help us to go in the right direction on MS Oosterdam,

and to know what day it is

 

Service for breakfast is again slow in the Dining Room, but we have learned from the previous day's experience how to specify exactly what we want. At 10am, we attend a very informative talk on tomorrow's destination: the Falkland Islands. This is followed by three laps of the deck and we then find books of interest to borrow from the ship's library. Our evening meal is the second that's included in the 'Have It All' package, and it's in the Pinnacle Grill. We are seated in a sort of side passage near the restaurant's entrance - a fact that is not to the liking of a group of Americans. The Maitre d' pacifies them by providing free lobster; we join the protest but opt for a free lunch. The meal is excellent, all courses being of a very high standard. Jeanette has two outstanding crab cakes to start, and David has lobster bisque; we both have filet mignon (left); and both have creme brulees for dessert. This evening's show is Kings of the Keyboard where a pianist performs songs of other pianist, but mostly of Freddy Mercury. A bit over the top but quite enjoyable

On route to The Falklands

 

We have arrived at the Falkland Islands - and it's a perfect sunny day, enabling passengers to go ashore by way of the tenders. Independent travellers (such as us) disembark after 9am, and we are in the port of Stanley by 9:30am
