After the caravan has departed, the Maillot Jaune leads out the 182 cyclists who will compete the 218-kilometre stage to Tours. We then explore Fougeres, which lies on the main Caen to Rennes road. Its location on an escarpment results in a split level site with the town's massive, moat encircled castle, situated below the main part of Fougeres

Our first destination on our return journey home is the American War Cemetery at the village of St-James which contains the remains of 4,410 American soldiers of the Second World War
