On Thursday, we return to Fira in order to visit the Museum of Prehistoric Thera. The Museum houses a very large number of ancient
artifacts from various excavations on Santorini, including many from the archeological site we visited at Akrotiri
The collections are ordered chronologically, and include ceramics, sculptures, jewellery, wall paintings, and ritual objects. The
monumental art of wall-painting is represented in great detail.
After the museum, we again explore the narrow alleys of Fira, particularly where they provide views of the caldera. In a souvenir
shop where we select an item for display on our Christmas tree, we are amazed to be given it as a gift in return for our appreciate
comments of the 60s music being played
