Our route to La Recoleta Cemetery takes us along the Avenida del Libertador, one of the principal thoroughfares of the city. Sites along this long street include another monument to San Martin (above), the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and a Monument to the Carta Magna. On other streets we view aspects of everyday life

The mausoleums of La Recoleta Cemetery

The mausoleum that contains the remains of Eva Peron (left) is located in a narrow, dark passage that provides difficult access for the many coach groups that have come to view this historical monument

The bus tour continues giving us more views of Buenos Aires as we make our way to the Plaza de Mayo - the city's most historic square, that includes Casa Rosada (left). The characteristic colour of the Casa Rosada is baby pink, and it is considered one of the most emblematic buildings in Buenos Aires. Officially it is known as Government House and it features the balcony made famous by the musical  Evita.
