Dresden's version of the 'Bridge of Sighs',
part of the Residenzschloss.
A highlight of the Residenzschloss are the balconies and its colourful frescoes.

The Procession of Princes is located on the outside of one of its walls.
The Procession of Princes (featuring Augustus the Strong - above) is a 101-metre long mural representing the history of the Saxon
ruling family. It consists of more than 24,000 Meissen porcelain tiles.
After the conclusion of the escorted walking tour, we refresh with coffee and delicious cakes at the Coselpalais cafe where there
is an Easter theme.
Continuing our exploration of Dresden's architectural highlights, we make our way to the Holy Cross Church (Kreuzkirche) where John
and David climb the 259 steps (some numbered and named) of its tower. The ascent passes the church's huge bells on the way to
a narrow viewing platform. Unfortunately, the panoramic views from the 54-metres-high platform do not encompass many of the city's
historical buildings. The tower features a very comprehensive memorial to refugees who died on their way to the city.

and the Palace of Culture.
Our next destination is the interior of the Frauenkirche where we are able to admire its most remarkable architecture and also listen
to two ladies providing descriptions relating to the bombing and subsequent reconstruction of the church and Dresden generally.
We then walk to the Green Vault where we have purchased tickets for entry to that museum from 2:15pm.
