Dresden & Berlin - April 2025
(continued)
Gate of Sanchi Monument.
in front of the Berlin Palace.
Janet and Jeanette at the East Side Gallery section of the Berlin Wall.
A pause in our coach tour of the city enables us to visit the Brandenburg Gate - one of the best-known landmarks in Germany.
On top of the gate is a "bronze" sculptural group of a quadriga (a chariot drawn by four horses) driven by a goddess figure.
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, also known as the Holocaust Memorial is situated on the former location of the Berlin
Wall, near to the Brandenburg Gate.
Rejoining the coach near the Reichstag (right - to be returned to later), we are dropped off at Museum Island, a museum complex on
the northern part of Spree Island. Berlin Cathedral is also located here.
The Neues Museum is home to the Egyptian Museum with its papyrus collection and its famous bust of Queen Nefertiti.
